About Michael Bekins
Michael brings to his clients experience as a CHRO of a global growth company, a C-Suite executive with P&L responsibility for Asian, European, and global businesses, and the founder of a transnational executive coaching business with offices in Asia and the US.
He has lived and worked across culturally diverse markets, making eleven cross-border moves across four continents. His conversations with thousands of leaders have shaped his perspectives on life, work, leadership, and careers.
Throughout his career, Michael has focused on talent: acquiring, developing, retaining, rewarding, organizing, and coaching talent. He has found great satisfaction in helping organizations expand globally with the right talent and helping executives build their leadership effectiveness.
As a P&L executive, he held corporate roles as President-APAC, President-EMEA, and EVP-Chief Operating Officer with Korn Ferry. Over a thirty-year period with the firm, he was able to directly shape the firm’s global growth and future success on a global scale.
In 2012 Michael founded Capita Partners, an executive coaching business where Michael and his team helped leaders and teams build their effectiveness in cross-border and cross-cultural roles. One of Michael’s clients was the CEO of Sol-Millennium Medical Group, then a recent start-up medical devices company with an impressive product portfolio and a vision to win in the global marketplace. In 2016, the CEO asked Michael to join as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Alongside a talented senior leadership team, the organization expanded to every region in the world. Michael continues to serve as CHRO for Sol-Millennium Medical Group.
Michael works closely with senior executives as an advisor, mentor, and coach. He carves out time each week to work pro-bono with people at all levels to bring focus, direction, and authenticity to their careers. Michael believes that each of us have multiple careers inside us and infinite opportunities to attain meaningful success. It’s the journey that matters most.
Michael serves on the Board of Sol-Millennium Medical Group. He is a Trustee on two philanthropic foundations and on the Board of the West Los Angeles Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a past Trustee of the California Science Center and the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California, a BS from Pepperdine University, and an executive coaching certification from Columbia University.
